Local Chapters
The heart of the Musical Box Society International is its chapters, where the goals of MBSI are accomplished by dedicated members.

The MBSI has eleven local chapters in the U.S. and one in Japan. In addition to facilitating interaction between members about restoration, maintenance, buying and selling, etc., most of the chapters engage in some kind of outreach activity.

The task of selecting meeting sites, arranging hotel accommodations, bus trips, coordinating collections to visit, workshops and lectures to attend is a time consuming effort, all arranged by MBSI volunteers.

See the MBSI Calendar of Events page for more information.

East Coast Chapter     Established: 1965

The East Coast Chapter includes MBSI members from New England, New York, New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania. We hold four meetings each year, rotating the location around our large geographic area. Three of the meetings are weekend get-togethers, that include a Chapter business meeting, educational workshops, sightseeing, a banquet dinner, a Chapter mart and member open houses. The summer meeting is usually a picnic at a members home or at a local attraction. Our Chapter newsletter, the Comb and Bellows is published quarterly and keeps our members apprised of our events. We welcome all MBSI members to join in the fun!

Golden Gate Chapter     Established: 1970

The Golden Gate Chapter holds it's meetings in the areas of Northern and Central California and Nevada. However, we welcome all domestic and international members. We hold three one-day meetings and one two-day meeting per year. Since we cover such a large area, we try to hold meetings within a reasonable driving distance. Occasionally, our meetings are held in public places and at local hospitals. Chapter dues are $5.00 per year.
